- Popup Slapdown
Popup windows are those advertising windows that appear when you visit some web sites--trying to sell you credit cards, little cameras, movie and TV previews, and more.
Popup Slapdown is a popup window blocker for Internet Explorer that keeps all those ad windows from appearing. It works simply (and even invisibly) in your web browser. When a popup window is detected and blocked, a sound will be played, and the main Internet Explorer window will be flashed. (You can change how those work if you don't want it to flash, etc.)
- Web Bug Swatter
Web Bugs are little tiny images websites include in their pages. They load a picture from another website, which allows the other website to set a cookie on your computer. Usually these pictures are tiny; either invisible or as big as the period at the end of this sentence. So you don't see them.
They are most commonly used to track you as you visit a website or for other advertising reasons. Desktop Armor's Bug Swatter can automatically remove these Web Bugs from webpages as you surf the Internet.

- Desktop Armor warned me about a new program (X). Where do I find out what it is?
There are 1000's of files, many good, but a few bad. Your best bet is to search for the filename using Google or another search website. They will often find lots of information to help you figure out if the file is good or bad.
- I opened an email attachment and Desktop Armor suddenly started warning me about changes?
Most likely, you just opened a Virus or Trojan email! That's how most viruses spread these days, as email attachments. You'll want to click "Fix It Back" for the settings Desktop Armor is warning about.
More Steps:
You should make sure you've got the latest virus scanner and start scanning for viruses. If you don't have a virus scanner, McAfee is the one I use.
You should reboot your computer so the virus isn't running and sending out more messages to everybody you know.
- I get an error about "INSTALL.LOG" not found when Uninstalling Desktop Armor?
I'm not sure why, but sometimes the install program doesn't save that file properly. Then uninstalling has problems. Just download this file and save into your Desktop Armor folder, normally you'll be saving to C:\Program Files\Desktop Armor\install.log

- What is the difference between Desktop Armor and Geek Superhero?
The functions they perform and protections they provide are identical. They really are the same program with different names and looks.
