(1). What is an invalid page fault and how do I fix it?
- When a page fault error is generated by an application, that
application is usually terminated by the operating system (to
prevent further page fault errors). The error would look something
like this:
- "Invalid Page Fault in Kernel32.dll"
- Page fault errors occur when an application requests data
from memory that no-longer exists (searching for data in the
page file that does not exist will generate an error).
- This is usually caused by either corrupt memory contents,
a bug with the operating system, incorrectly installed or conflicting
memory or more commonly, a bug with a specific program.
- If the cause is not a bug with a specific program then you
may also experience these errors when running other applications.
(2).Outlook says that my PST file is read-only and will
not import it. Is there anything that I can do about this?
The PST file could be on a read-only or protected path. Use
the following steps:
1. Copy the PST file to your desktop or to your "My Documents"
folder.
2. Right click on the file and select "Properties" from the
pop-up menu.
3. In the pop-up window that appears, un-check (un-tick) the
"Read-only" check box (you can find this near the bottom of
the window).
4. Click the OK button to close the window.
5. Try importing the file again using Outlook.
