- What do I need to know to install ShoutBoxInFlash?
There is not much to know, Installations is as simple as editing a html page and uploading on your domain.
- How do my visitors on my domain use the ShoutBoxInFlash software ?
Visitors on your domain will see a box with messages on the page where you have added the coding of ShoutBoxInFlash. They will be able to see all the previous messages posted by all other users. There is an input box which allows them to enter their name they want to display along with the message they will post. Once they enter their name a cookie is created in their computer which tracks that particular visitor this way even if they go to the next page on your site ShoutBoxInFlash doesn't loose their track and remembers who is this person. After inputting their name they will add the message they want to post. The message is displayed instantly in 1 second without the refresh of the page.
- Can I delete entire messages or one message which is objectionable to me?
Yes, messages are stored in .txt file on your own server itself. Just download the txt file and delete lines which you want to delete, and upload the txt file back on your server by replacing the existing txt file. If there is no txt file (may be you deleted by mistake) or you just want to delete all the messages then just delete the txt file from your domain and now whenever first person comes to your site, a txt file will be created automatically and will start storing message automatically.
- I want to use smilies also ?
Please send us email, and we will send you a new zip file. Please note while using the smilies the size of the .swf is apx. 26kb and font's of the text are not so clear. because it uses special kinds of fonts. But without smiles the size of the .swf is only 16 kb which is faster to download and fonts of the text are clear and you can modify the fonts size in the html of the embedded object.
