BillingTracker includes several easy to use tools to help you manage your professional business and invoicing better. The built-in timer, for example, can rapidly switch between clients and projects. This lets you accurately record the small amounts of time that most of us end up working during the day ¨C working on one project when another client calls for a few minutes, then an associate walks into your office to discuss a different matter, then a meeting, etc.
The reports function lets you create a variety of reports that will let you take the pulse of your business, and show your clients what you have been doing. For example, BillingTracker Pro invoicing software will let you print a report of hours worked on a particular project between two dates, see how much money your clients owe you and what you owe your suppliers, and get an overall view of your cash flows. The list of hours you've worked can be included on the invoice, or placed on a separate report.
BillingTracker also lets you export your data in many different ways. Not only can you export reports, but also pretty much any information that you see on any screen can be exported to standard file formats.
BillingTracker creates professional invoices automatically, based on the projects and hours that you have entered. Choose from different formats, what information you want to include, and then either print the invoices or save them to a file that you can email.
Once the invoice has been sent, BillingTracker starts counting the days until you get paid. It will alert if you the client does not pay on time, and keep an updated chart of who owes you what.

What is the difference between the Pro and Standard versions?
BillingTracker Pro is small business / SOHO accounting software - simplified. BillingTracker Standard is meant for people who have just a few clients, and some easy bookkeeping requirements. The best way to see the differences is to look at the Compare Versions page and the Screenshots pages.
What is the difference between BillingTracker Pro and BillingTracker Pro Multi-User?
These two versions are the same file that you can download for a free trial. When you first install and launch BillingTracker Pro business accounting software, it will ask you if you want to run in single or multi-user mode. To run in multi-user mode, you should also download and install the BillingTracker Multi-User Server.
The single and multi-user versions have a different unlock code, so be sure to pick the right one in the store when you decide to buy.
Does BillingTracker run with multiple users?
Yes! BillingTracker Pro is designed for the single user, or for multiple users. When you first install BillingTracker Pro small business accounting software, it asks you whether you want to run it as a single user or in a multiple user environment. Note that you can easily switch from single to multiple user mode as your needs change.
In order to protect your company's data in multi-user mode, BillingTracker Pro runs with the BillingTracker Multi-User Server. It is a small module that regulates access to the data file and ensures that each employee is only allowed to make changes according to his/her permission level.
When you are ready to purchase, simply buy the number of seats that is equal to the number of individuals that will be using the software. For example, if you have 7 people in your office that will use BillingTracker Pro and the BillingTracker Multi-User Server, purchase 7 seats.
What is the BillingTracker Multi-User Server?
The BillingTracker Multi-User Server is a small module (with a big name!) that regulates access to your data file, when you are working in multi-user mode - e.g. when several people in an office are sharing the same accounting data. It works with BillingTracker Pro only - not BillingTracker Standard.
You install the server software, tell it where the data file is, and then add users. For each user, you simply define the name, a password, and give that user his/her permission level.
The server and the data file can be on separate computers, the same computer, or even on the same computer as one of the BillingTracker Pro users.
Permission levels are very straightforward:
* Basic - User can only ENTER his own work on his own projects only. Cannot work on other users' projects.
* Low - User can ENTER and CHANGE/EDIT his own work on his own projects only. Cannot work on other users' projects.
* Middle - User can ENTER, CHANGE/EDIT, and DELETE his own work on his own projects only. Cannot work on other users' projects.
* High - User can ENTER, CHANGE/EDIT, and DELETE his own work on his projects AND on other users' projects.
* All - User can ENTER, CHANGE/EDIT, and DELETE his own work AND the work of anyone else on any project.
Note: BillingTracker Pro small business accounting software will not work in multi-user mode without the server. When you start your computers each morning, simply turn on the server first.

What is the difference between the full (paid) version and the trial version free accounting software download?
BillingTracker free trial downloads are the same as BillingTracker Pro and Standard paid versions, but are limited to a trial period only.
BillingTracker free business accounting software trial downloads can be easily upgraded to the full (paid) versions at any time by entering a code in the register screen, which you receive via email upon purchase.
Both the trial and paid versions of BillingTracker will let you create an invoice, to fully test the system from start to finish.
The free trial download of the BillingTracker Multi-User Server is the same - it will work with all of its functionality during the trial period. After that, you will need to enter an unlock code in the register screen. The unlock code can be obtained by purchasing BillingTracker Pro Multi-User.

The Going Rate Index is updated daily, so it is the freshest information anywhere on hourly rates for your profession. People who have subscribed to the ClientChecker paid service can see high-median-low hourly rates for any profession by region of the US or by country. ClientChecker free registrants can see just the worldwide average of rates, by profession.
BillingTracker automatically sends an average of your hourly rate data to the ClientChecker database. The data is completely anonymous - no one will be able to find out what you charge, and you can turn off this ability at any time.
