Fx Audio Editor 4 Series Features highlights
include:
- The Graphical Interface
The top portion of the main window contains the Main Menu and
Toolbars which are organized into groups based up their functional
purpose.
- Play and Record
With the Play and Record feature you can play a sound file in
a single thread while recording it in the editor. This is particularly
useful if you have a proprietary sound format that can only
be played back in a particular player. For example if you need
to save a voice mail file to a common file type you can playback
the audio and record it in Fx Audio Editor. The equalizer in
the play and record tool will dynamically alter the sound of
the playing sound whereas the main equalizer for the editor
modifies the waveform of the audio loaded into the editor. What
you hear is what you are recording. If you change the volume
or the equalizer during the recording session your recorded
file will reflect the changes.As with the standard recorder
you can also record sound from a microphone or another input
device as well. Turn off your speakers or keep your microphone
well behind the speakers to avoid feedback.
- Automatic Gain Control
When audio drops below the Low Level for longer than the Attack
Time, recording volume is increased. When audio exceeds the
High Level for longer than the Attack Time, recording volume
is decreased.
- Command line
Fx Audio Editor will accept any file name as a command line
option. This feature enables you to open files for editing from
a command prompt or by selecting Fx Audio Editor from a Windows
Open With dialogue. If you choose a file that cannot be edited
with Fx Audio Editor you will be presented with the option of
opening the file with the appropriate program associated with
the Windows MIME type. Although you may add an Open With association
between audio files to use Fx Audio Editor as your primary audio
player it is not recommended. See Digital Audio Formats or Opens
With for more information about file and MIME types.
- Function Keys and Shortcut Key Combinations
The plus sign (+) between keys indicates that the first key
should be pressed and held while the second key is pressed.
